This was a replacement project, as our old birdfeeder had become quite tired and weathered over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">I added hinges to the roof of the new birdfeeder, so it was able to swing open and the main \u2018house\u2019 filled with birdseed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Then, there was a simple mechanism on the inside: with one full turn of the handle on the side, a measured amount of birdseed would be released into the trough for the birds to access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As you can see in the photos, the bird feeder was very popular! Especially with the local peaceful doves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">I think the charm of this project is in its simplicity and classic design, and it became a really nice feature of our backyard.
